Why's he only just sent his Visa??

Presumably because the signing only actually happened fairly recently. Not sure about that bit myself but you can't apply for a visa without the employer confirming the job offer through the "certificate of sponsorship", so if the deal wasn't done, FC wouldn't have been able to issue that. Once done, he can apply for the visa

True but he accepted the contract offer 10 days ago. I should have thought he would have been a bit quicker off the mark in getting his application in.

I've probably got the wrong end of the stick but the way i read it was the visa had been issued and he was waiting to recieve it.

Where have you read this i have seen nothing on the net anywhere.

Looks like he's only just been able to do his biometrics and submit the documents. A lot of the delay will be due to getting an appointment for biometric capture.
