Granted, obviously. But we've all seen it. Victorious idiot supporter shouts something at supporters of the losing side and you get people shouting 'shut up diickhead'. Happens all the time, and everyone simply moves on. 99 times out of 100, that would have been the situation there.



I ought to add that a few people said the same thing at the same time, yet my mate was the smallest of those who said it, and he went for him. What does that tell you?

and got stuck amongst some Wire idiots on the way home. The ones on foot or walking to their cars away from the stadium were blocking the roads around ASDA and the fire station area and banging on the roof of our car when they saw the Warriors stickers in it and the bunch of loons behind us were flashing the headlights and banging the horn on their car continually - and I do mean continually - from us leaving the stadium area to reaching the M6. I have only ever felt really uncomfortable after a rugby match on two occasions - last night was one and the other time was at Warrington after the Challenge cup semi against the French a few years back when Wire supporters turned out in force just to abuse us.

Every club has their idiots, its just a shame that Warringtons idiots just seem to be much worse than everyone elses. I cant remember the last time after a Wigan vs Warrington game that I HAVENT heard about a Warrington fan physically abusing a Wigan fan. Its getting so bad that I even consider not taking my young lad to the Warrington matches just in case we get caught up in some of it.

With regards to the lad being "done in" simply report it to the police who in turn will contact the DW stadium and look through CCTV footage of the incident. Thats the first steps, then once the culprit is found simply press charges and look forward to watching him grovel and shake like a crapping dog when he has to attend court.

It makes you wonder what this hero would have done had your mate been 7ft 2 and built like a brick sh*thouse.



It's never really advisable to call anyone, except your close mates, a d*ckhead. Trouble is that your mate made the first aggressive act by saying this and the wire thug could in court say he thought he was going to be attacked, so in effect acted in self defence. Sounds stupid I know but I've seen it happen. The area you describe though is well covered by cameras and any act of self defence must be commensurate with the threat involved. Lets hope your mate gets justice and then sues this bloke for damages.

To be fair going around calling someone a diickhead isnt the wisest move and is quite aggressive in itself. It is certainly not something I would do as I would expect the situation to quickly escalate. I am not condoning your mate getting battered but if he hadnt have called someone a diickhead then it wouldnt have happened.

I hope they catch the piece of filth who did it and deal with him accordingly, so before anyone gets carried away and starts tarring us all with the same brush I apologise on behalf of all true wire fans and decent warringtonians for such a disgusting assault

I was getting the train back from Coventry which got into Wigan at 18.37.... it went through Warrington so hundreds of wire fans were on my train... I had some really good banter with some old ladies near me and a few middle aged fellas with cans in hand. I was in my Wigan top with my scarf. As soon as I got off the train I was suddenly surrounded by chavs and got loads of abuse..... massive contrast. They have some awesome fans and yet I bet half of those guys hurling abuse at me don't usually go to the games.



I hope they get this guy and ban him, I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the train with all these chavs.

We are all blessed with at least a few of these numbnuts, so don't worry about it.



My experience of banter with Warrington fans has been good, sometimes even witty. I'd say what has been creeping in with some of Warrington fans is a tad of the football fan outlook. I know some people who were at the HJ for JC's testimonial, who were mixed in with wire fans, some of whom were screaming at the stewards to have them shifted. Having said that, other wire fans were saying leave them alone. I know it's not typical but just hope it doesn't go footballs way.

Wire do have a large Chav element (Wigan also have a few numbskulls as well). I found out last night from my missus that as she was walking to the ground with my two young lads wearing Wigan shirts a Wire teenager chanted 'Who the f*cking hell are Wigan' at them. To be fair the other teenage lads with him told him he was out of order for swearing at kids.
