For those going tomorrow night it is a 7.30pm kick off at St Margaret's Church Hall. It's on Queen's Road which is a couple of minutes up Wells Road which is next to the train station or Grove. There is a map on the link www.ilkleyliteraturefestival.org ... ochure.pdf
If anyone fancies a beer before (or indeed after) there is the Station or Midland opposite the train station, or Bar Tat which is on the car park at the back of Bettys. Dinner suits compulsory. |

Quite interesting, especially for someone like me not as steeped in the history of the game as some on here! And made it with a minute to go despite being straight from where I am working at the moment only half a mile away...
But Sadler remains a complete Prat - hijacked it near the end from the audience, denying others the opportunity to ask questions whilst pontificating on his own account once again.

Sadler did make a prat of himself. But limiting it to one hour was an error, I don't know on whose part. As was said a few times, put 2 RL people in a room & they will argue. But putting 200 in a room & giving them only 10 minutes for Q&A, including Sadler, was barmy. Still a very enjoyable evening.

Enjoyed it but Sadler's waffling spoilt it a bit given the lack of time available for Q&A.
I'd happily go to something like that again but more time for Q&A and a tighter rein needs to be kept on the audience to prevent the bores from taking over.
