After watching the NZv Eng game this morning , I came to the conclusion that we in the Super League definately aren't playing to the same rules as the NRL , my arguement is based on the fact that the referees in both the recent Eng games have penalised the Eng players constantly for holding down and interference in the first half of both games , but then appeared to allow a lot more slowing down of the play the ball in the second half

Both referees have been from the NRL list !!

In the Super league this season many teams have employed the tactics of slowing the play the ball down by waiting for the referee to tell the players to move and release ,this does not appear to happening in the games I have watched so far !!

The game should be played to the same rules in all countries !!!!!

In other news the titanic has sunk.

I prefer the NRL version. Refs should ref and not bark out instructions to the players at every tackle.

Remove this from the game and we may get rid of the annoying act of holding down while looking back at the ref waiting for the call to release.

If this were the rule, Wigan's game strategy would be fooked

you have two of the worst in the league for lying on / holding down and have gotten away with it for years



Wigan this season have legitimately held the man up and then dropped to the ground, have been dominant in the tackle and therefore have been given the time to set the line back 10,, unlike most other teams who have been unable to master the technique

The ref in the Maori game wasn't an NRL ref. Just a young kiwi ref.

The only surprising thing about Wigan playing to the rules, is that they did just that...for once.

It was at least good to see the ref not falling for Sam Tomkins 'arm clamping' tactic.

Much the same as the ref in the Aus v PNG game who seemed to ping PNG for everything and gifted them the 1st 2 try's yet the Aussies were all over them and they got nothing

I think he was New Zealands answer to uncle Alibert completely out of his depth.
