When I watched Wild Boars against my team(Hindley)last year they did ok, the score may seem a little excessive but they are a much stronger team Westhoughton (no disrepect)

Good game lads, we were a little disappointed with a couple of sloppy tries we let in, but fair play to you lads you played well and all in good spirit. With regards to the "tripping",

its a legal tackle mate, not one penalty was given for it, its not nice being on the receiving end though i know, as it does feel like a trip, but it isnt

Iv been sent off once for it where i got it wrong Vs Hindley, but apart from that never been penalised once in 10+ years.

Well played bury, very controlled performance and saw out the game although a few dodgey very late tackles from yourselfs and a couple of your crowd let you down.

Our inexperienced players gave away stupid penalties at the wrong time, plus our fitness in defence wasn't up to scratch.



Some of the results coming in look tastey and with good numbers down training this week i think we'll manage to edge out westhoughton for the win.

I think some of your bigger lads definitely struggled in the heat a bit - our 2 biggest lads (6'9" and 6'7"icon_wink.gif didn't play this week, and our other big boy at 20 stone only did about 10 mins, I think it was this mobility that gave us that extra go-forward later in the game.



Some of the crowd and subs were a little enthusiastic, to say the least - it's something we've discussed and will be addressing. Only really noticed 1 late hit? Our loose forward flattening someone just after he released? Pretty sure he got pulled for it...

Hate to say it but you did get pulled on one 'trip' on our number 8; he put on a good step out wide on your right (our left) in the 2nd half - the touch judge definitely flagged it and the ref gave us a penalty.

The way I saw it you were putting the leg out and then grabbing for the shirt? I know the old 'Alfie Langer' style tackle is legal, but didn't think your technique was? I stand to be corrected...

A tackler must not make use of any special “holds” or

“throws” which are likely to cause injury or use his knees

in the tackle. It is permissible for a tackler to bring a

player in possession of the ball to the ground by pulling

him over the outstretched leg provided he is holding the

player with both arms before there is any contact with

the leg.
