but like most S/L sides this year we dont seem to be able to win games consistantly, (with the exception of Wigan and Warrington that is) |

Realise that figures and attention to details are not your strongest point Mrs B but i think you'll find lots and lots and even lots more lower S.L. gates since March 2008. I'd go as far to say a few S.L. clubs would welcome such a low gate every week
Perhaps we should try a revolutionary new way of massaging crowd figures, lets make 3,000 freebies available to any amateur rugby lads in the area

That is my point, they have had some good wins there is not enough consistency this year, and I fancy them to do well, harder pitches will suit their game. |

just about every team falls into the inconsistency bracket this year, teams are winning games they shouldnt be winning, but IMO this makes S/L better. results like Salford beating Saints, and Crusaders beating Bradford at Magic weekend keeps S/L interesting. |

Very pleased with today but we must remember we were very good in our last home game too. Yes that was 5 weeks ago admitedly.
My point is that Rovers slump never included any home games anyway.
So with Saints and Warrington away looming large I wouldn't assume calm waters are now upon us.
We have now won 7 lost 7 and pretty well all season that has been our win loss ratio. I expect that ratio to continue with most of the wins being at Craven Park.
But the team are more than welcome to prove me wrong by winning at Saints and/or Warrington.

As i said on the very 1st post i fancied Rovers to put things right today.
The enthusisam and energy they are capable of displaying was very much in evidence today.
An early try always settles a side down and they got that and some of the tries from distance were superb.
Vella and Clinton ripped in early and Dobson had space to play in for the 1st time in a while.
Very impressed with the disbribution from Dummy Half by Hodgson and his taking on the line along with his great pass to send Dobson in for his 2nd try.
Watts was great with ball in hand but needs to work on his discipline.
Strong return to the side from Welham and our new right centre scored 2 great trys
The Crusaders were disapointing in particular there decision making and giving away stupid pens.
There best 2 players were their Wingers Raynor and Thomas i thought.
Witt was a huge disapointment'"
Very comprehensive comments on the match and individual player contributions. Just makes me wonder why we haven't had this in depth review the last 3 matches. |
