If I had the time I am sure I could find a squad list for Cas and show 10 British players who have played first team for them since they came back up and who were trained in the Wakey and Cas district, I was talking to someone about it on Friday and they reeled off a long list.

I'm all for cutting the amount of overseas players and taking the game in that direction as long as it doesn't dilute the quality.



The bottom line is that IMO the fans come first, and most fans want to see quality RL, and if fans didn't pay to watch the game then players wouldn't be able to make a living in the first place.

So why do those same 'fans' complain when we are an embarrassment at International level?

I have to set the record straight -- for your information Rhys is staunchly British and extremely proud of it. As a small boy he had the bruises to prove it, sticking up for the British against the many "pommy knockers" down here in Sydney! Rhys' grandfather (from Durham) was one of the last off the beaches at Dunkirk and spent the war as a tail gunner hanging out the back of a Lancaster bomber shooting down German planes and was shot down over France. He continued his RAF service until 1969 seeing action in Borneo and Aden. Rhys' mother carried on the tradition (as a WRAF) getting into a few scrapes in Cyprus and on the West/East German border. Rhys is more proudly British than many of your UK citizens and always will be. He loves HKR, the City and its people and always will.

Funny cos when he lived with a friend of mine he spoke twice to NRL clubs about going back to Aussie and playing over there in his first season in England.
