If the public of Hull & the East Riding need to read fiction there are plenty of outlets selling paperbacks. I would agree with you if there was any substance in the stories.

In his column on Sunday Hudgell said players had to prove to Morgan they deserved new contracts and wanted to play for the club. Nick Wood of the HDM said on RH this was the chairman undermining the coach. In answer to a text asking how it undermined him he replied something along the lines of because he said it. I think that sums up the quality or lack of quality of the sports writers at the HDM

No, he should tell the board who he wants to keep and who his potential targets are, but the contracts should be left to those managing the club.

I'm not going to dispute that the Hull Daily Mail is pants but my original point was that alienating them, only encourages them to respond with a slightly angled negative spin. If they think they've been sidelined (which many think we have/should) - then we can expect more of this tat from them. It's their way at trying to make Rovers come back to them and give them the top scoops again. Local press are an evil necessity but we don't gain anything by black listing them.

Like I said they need us to help sell their paper and we need them to write controlled and balanced reports and limit any bad press as much as possible by working closer with them. 'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer ...'
