hangbags at 10 paces is hardly abrawl stop trying to make it into something it wasnt when it was a fantastic day for all who turned out.
Maybe if you had been there and paid your £2 to help Richard Horne out you might of seen quite a few good games of rugby, and actually seen what happened instead of making stuff up on here like a 4 year old!! |

| Just to add to the thread. I thought it was a great day which Wolfie worked really hard on and he deserves a lot of thanks from Horney and his family. I do think the people working behind the scenes deserve a mention as well though, the likes of Lisa,Neil,Nikki,Jackie and Chris who spent all day on the burger bar and Karen and Howard (I think?) who spent most of the day supervising the bouncy castle. You gave up your time to help out without any thought of getting anything out of it other than helping make the day a success and it made me proud to be a Hull fan. Also thanks to Adrian and Mick Cranes Sidestep (whose name escapes me currently  ) for doing a great job reffing the tag tournament. I thoroughly enjoyed my first, and probably last, experience of playing rugby despite the aches and pains I've still got I also thought the DJ/Announcer (Scotty?) did a great job keeping everyone informed of what was happening and getting people involved.
All in all a great day and even though I wasn't intending on buying anything at the auction on the night Wolfie managed to bully me into buying something (although I think he knew that was the one picture I really wanted to complete my set). I even managed to out-bid myself at one point |

like standee said i do these things cos i enjoy it dont realy know why tbh the grief i get off some people,like i said earlier even people refused to pay £2 to get in even tho i have advertised it for the past 4 months as a fundraising event,they even resorted to climbing over the fence to get in even pushing by my wife to get in i just felt like walking away from it but how could i do that to horney,my wife deserves a medal for what i put her through doing these events,it was that embarrising the landlord of westhull gave me £50 to the fund cos he was embarrased at what i was subjected to.
now for the players,rich has known about this event for months and what was needed as in players to play in the alstars final he realy has bust a gut to get them involved,i had got rich fletcher who had to pull out with pectoral injury but the guy still turned up to both events,i also got preckie to come,he was poorly all week but the guy still put his shorts on to support rich,like standee said the guy is a LEGEND,richard whiting was deffo playing but pulled out through illness,andy last was playing but couldnt cos his bairn is ill,rich rang me in the morning to say everything was ok re players,tommy lee,danny houghton,graham horne was all suppose to be playing but they didnt show,rich was texting and calling them but they didnt show,think he was embarrased tbh,even i had to put my shorts on,not my scene realy but it was a priveladge to be along side them.
as for the evening i was told 5 or 6 players would attend thats why i advertised it,craig hall came even tho he was at a wedding do,how was i to explain this to people when they have asked me were was the players.
anyway everything went well at both events and im so proud,and so is horney he cant thank me enough.
thanks to everyone thats helped me get through this and to all those that helped me with the gala day.
not got a full amount yet cos still got bits and bobs to come in,its looking like ive raised well over £4000

Now I KNOW we have a problem, it takes a lot to make me positive, it takes even more to make you critical, this is an indication of how far we have fallen.
Can you imagine, Jack Harrison fought for his country and saved his brothers in arms, do any of our current lot have that amount of bravery, I doubt it. |
