Your post is spot on.

As with any sporting club, you take away the fans and they have nothing, people can bang on about sponsorship and Sky money, but why do you think sponsons whant to be involved in the first place? I'll answer my own question, to sell their produce to you, the fans, and If we the fans were not subscribing to Sky, do you think for one minute they wouldn't drop RL like a hot potato, Why do you think one of the criteria for the licences is 10,000+ fans, that wasn't done on a whim, I suspect that Sky had a say in that. The underlying truth behind all of this is that without the fans there is no professional game,only the amateur game.

There's no doubt that no club can exist without the fans, no matter how good the alternative income streams might be. There's also no doubt that success on the pitch is not only important for the fans, but also for many of those other income streams as well.

Couldn't agree more. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what licence the club has if no one goes to watch. The licence is important though because the RL have said you need one to play in the top competition and we have the best grade you can get. Medium/long term this gives us our best chance of success in the top competition however it's down to the club management to ensure this happens. An improved recruitment and retention policy would go a long way to achieving that.

I think u will find the fans do contribute the majority of the clubs income.

Gate receipts 13 home games, av crowd 14000 av ticket price £15 gives £2730000.

Club shop sales £1 million.



Income from fans = £3.73 million



I think that is the majority of £5million turnover........

You need to knock off VAT from that, that will be close to £0.5m

Think you missed the point. The club has turnover between £5million and £6million. Over £3.7million is form the fans......

You don't think an error that cost us 60 grand is serious?

Not all the 14,000 people who gave pay £15, some are pass holders, soe corporates etc.

Not when it earned us far more.

Point missed again.

We are discussing the turnover of the club. Someone stated the fans do not contribute the majority of turnover to Hull FC. I have proved they do.



Care to dispute that fact?

It was £100k with £40k suspended. It didn't earn us any more as we'd have beaten rochdale and widnes without thackray. It also doesn't include the intangible cost of us looking like idiots to the rest of the RL world

Who ever posted that was misguided. But its hardly a suprise that a companies customers is the main sourse of its turnover.



I think the point was, as individuals each customer alone provides a very small amount, where as a sponsor / sky would provide a large amount, as an individual contributor.
