Nowadays players are well paid, plus all the benefits of sponsors and the like. IMO testemonials should only be awarded to players who give long service to one club ie Horne or Yeaman. 1000's of people dedicate themselves to helping youth development and helping charities, most of them do it for the love of it. Im sure Lee has done plenty in this field but IMO tis shouldnt qualify him for a tesemonial.'"

To be fair I will probably go to some of the events, because they are just that - events. I do not have a problem with any player being awarded a testimonial. If I don't like something I won't go, simple really.

I think he has performed well for us, often doing the hard work. He was never going to be the most popular player due to the way he left the first time around but he's been a good signing imo.
He has given a lot to rugby (and been well paid admittedly) but has also done a lot in the community of Hull through his coaching. |

He's been consistently average since he's been here and the idea of a testimonial for six seasons of being very well paid for what he does, is just taking the pi$$.
Obviously an indivividual's decision but he won't get a penny from me.

People keep saying 'paid well' but you have to remember it is a short career, so players will want to earn as much as possible to help them once they are retired and need to get a 'proper' job like the rest of us. I don't have any problem with players making a bob or 2 to help them once they retire. Anyone and everyone on this forum would do the same if they could, but we can all stay in our jobs for much longer. |

10 years on an average of £50k, that is the same as 30 years on £16.5K, which is above the average wage in Hull.
