Quote knockersbumpMKII="knockersbumpMKII"If one is not able to differentiate which team is which then one might need to have a more regular eye check for corrective purposes, though I never sit THAT far back at any sporting event the camera shot is blurry/out of focus and does not represent what viewing a game through a normal pair of eyes is like. Also it is a static singular moment snap and people with average sight and mental ability will have no trouble knowing who their players are.'"
So to answer the question, no you can't tell which one Hull is
The fact is, people will be sat that far back sometimes. Some people won't have perfect eyesight. Some people won't be able to see the red stripe at the top of the Saints sock, either through not perfect sight or through the fact that it's a tiny part of the kit and it's been covered by another player.
People WILL take pictures like this and have no idea what's going on. People will watch on TV (standard def) and when it goes to a long shot not realise who is chasing.
Quote knockersbumpMKII="knockersbumpMKII"I'm sure the referee would be ensuring that teams change kits if he thought it was an issue, that some speccies can't isn't an issue for me because they are in the insignificant minority.'"
And if the team doesn't have another kit?
Remember Huddersfield vs Castleford last year?

They delayed the game 25 minutes (a TV game at that) to get them to wear a different shirt. One's got hoops, the other hasn't. Why is it that that's not good enough for a Sky game, but is good enough for a friendly? It shouldn't be good enough for either. They're both poor kit clashes.
Quote knockersbumpMKII="knockersbumpMKII"When I played I never had to think twice, why would I? I recognise my own team (it wasn't a kick around on a park btw
) and just because they are SL players makes them no lesser or superior in their cognative abilities to other human beings so it matters not one jot in that respect.'"
I'm not sure if that's arrogance, ignorance or a joke, but your cognitive reactions WOULD be slowed if the difference between the two kits isn't as obvious. You would take longer to recognise a stimulus (the player) the more similar the kit is. It's the reason why we try to avoid kit clashes!
You're basically saying that you could play a game totally unaffected if everyone was in the same kit as you'd be able to recognise your own team. I'd say that's rubbish, and you just can't tell how much it affects you (just like them people that think they drive better when they're drunk).
And my reference to it being a professional game wasn't about the cognitive abilities of the players (although you'd think that full time sportsmen with specific training to react to different stimulus would increase their chances of having greater cognitive abilities in certain areas than most other human beings). It was about how the game looks. And it doesn't look good when two teams are very very similarly kitted up when it could very easily be avoided. The second someone thinks "ooh, I thought he passed it to the other team then" means they've got a clash.
Quote knockersbumpMKII="knockersbumpMKII"It isn't difficult to see who is who unless you aren't following the game and have come back from the beer tent/bogs, then it takes a few seconds to regather who/what/where.'"
The fact that you've said "unless" and "a few seconds" means there's a clash. Believe it or not, a lot of people will look at the sport as unprofessional for reasons like this. It shouldn't take "a few seconds" to tell who's who. And it shouldn't matter if you've nipped to the bog, changed the TV channel, etc. you should know as soon as you look at the players who is on whose team.
Considering you thought that Wire and Leeds was a clash, I'm quite surprised you are't agreeing on the rest. It seems to contradict your opinion.

That's what my initial post was about.
