| I'd rather be rid of ALL the players who put going out for a pint (or several) above playing RL on their list of priorities. What order they go in doesn't matter one bit, let's just get rid.

| Quote Chris71="Chris71"Who knows if he is a bad apple or just easily lead by the usual suspects. For me Tickle is a player with ability and I would rather we get rid a certain players before him and relase him as a very last resort. Without certain players in the team any longer next season and players like O'Meley & Fitz coming in I believe would have a positve affect on Tickle.
If no different next season then he has had is chance and time to let him go.'"
I would suggest that if he's that easily led then he probably doesn't have the right mentality to be a top flight professional RL player.
Bear in mind that this isn't new - he went off the rails at Wigan as well, although possibly for different reasons.

| Can anyone NAME the players that have a drink (or three).......Just to clarify things?
Now I know.....as does everyone else.....that Kingy likes a pint and even the odd cig.....I've seen him in Charlston watching FC away at Wigan (remember.....the game we really snatched defeat fromn the jaws of victory.....The day The Who played the KC).....Anyway...He can't be blamed for that defeat 'cos of his location that night . Now, I'm not gonna get on Kingy's case.....he smokes and thats his choice, but maybe he could be a tad fitter if he didn't?????? He loves a drink, but that's just the way he is.......He still has the best 'offload' (my opinion) in the team. He always looks to keep the ball alive in the tackle and I reckon he has a 70% success rate He is Black and White through and through, that we know. He's not a 'robot rugby player'....He's just a local lad that plays for the team he supported all his life.
So.....I've named one (the most obvious).....But I don't think he would be 'Kingy' if he was any different!!!
YOUR TURN!!!!!!!

| Quote Standee="Standee"The only one I HAVEN'T seem pie eyed out of the "senior" players is Richard Horne.'"
They all go out and have a drink and there is no reason why they shouldn't providing it's done at the right time. Every player in SL will do the same.

Every?
I never saw Swain or Kearney do it, I know many players who never do during the season.
Christ, I know train drivers who CAN'T within 24 hours of a shift.
It really makes me laugh what some people think is acceptable, do you think Usain Bolt drinks?
They are MEAN TO BE PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMEN, the SHOULD NOT drink or smoke, at least during the season.

Well most. Reading this you would think only Hull players have a night out, whcih is simply not true. Leeds, Saints Wigan etc they all do it.

I would agree that smoking isn't a good idea for professional athletes, but a couple of pints after the game won't do them any harm whatsoever. If they're drinking heavily in the 24-48 hours before a game, that's when it becomes unacceptable.

The problem is that it isn't an occasional night out, it's more often than not, and they rarely only have a "few".
Having said that, if we were top of the table and scoring points for fun then nobody would care if they were drinking Vodka at half time!

I'd agree with that, but also add that excessive alcohol consumption could also interfere with training if done at the wrong times.
I have no problem whatsoever with RL players having a drink, provided it has no effect on their fitness or ability to train and play on matchdays. I don't expect them to be monks, although I would hope that since their bodies are their sole source of income they would respect them enough to keep things sensible.
The problem appears to be that [isome[/i players, and a certain portion of our fan base, appear to be stuck in the 'good old days' prior to SL. It is no longer acceptable to go out on the lash regularly or be stubbing out your ciggy as you run onto the pitch. Some people need to wake up to this fact.
