I went along to see and hear some of these moaners make their concerns known and there were hardly any demanding questions. Given some of the comments on here recently I expected the panel to get a real grilling and they had it quite easy IMO.



One thing I will say though is that Ben Gledhill came across as a very bright and articulate young man (not your typical prop, if you know what I mean

)



All the panel seemed determined to get that elusive win on Sunday and asked for the fans to get behind them and support them. You can tell how much it is hurting them that we are not playing well at the minute.

Not everyone works 9 to 5 or lives within close proximity. Although I do concede there are some people I know who post on here live close and do work 9 to 5, who chose not attend.



Some people are quick to jump on which ever bandwagon has the most momentum at the time. It was nice to hear some of the stuff coming out of last nights Q & A, but one thing I would like to know is did anyone ask about the scrum half situation. Whether you are in the Kear in or out camp, one thing the majority want to know is what about a scrum half.



Cooke might not be playing well at the moment, JD might be good at public speaking but I am still failling to see what really came out of last night in the way of answers.



Before any starts with 'why didn't you go and ask these questions?' the simple answer I live in peterborough and don't finish work until 6pm.

There was no direct question or answer about a SH. There was a general comment about us always being on the lookout for new players, but there was nothing to speak of at this time.



My understanding is that it is likely that we will be looking to 2011 now for a decent SH - due to cost and availability issues.



If we can get BJ, Magic and Morro back, together with our new prop (Charlie?) and possibly a fit Moore, then we will look like a different side IMO.



The Cooke question - re. from - was asked, with JK's reply being that the one most concerned with his form was Cooke himself. If that is the case and Cooke is working to rectify that then, IMO, he will come good. Time will tell.

Which is fair enough and you don’t need to justify why you didn’t attend (I didn’t), however there was a opportunity for people who live close by and had no other commitments to go and it appears they didn’t, or they did but they were not as critical in person, which is always harder to do.

My mate who'll probably be on here later on, asked why we didn't compete with Crusaders for Sammut and was told it was because we didn't have space under the quota. Personally I would have rather had him than Leano as I would prefer to see more of Gledhill.

My view on what JK said was, there aint going to be no new scrum half, and when the new prop arrives we run with what we have, he said he had a tremendous amount of faith in the players we have at the club.

He did say that Crusaders weren't playing to the same rules as everyone else and somehow managed to field 14 quota players in their 17.



As for the prop situation he said several times that he thought we had already played Gledhill much more than JK would have liked but had no option. I think the prop will be used to give Gledhill a rest to bring him back stronger later on.

Trinity, although technically within the rules, are not exactly shining lights on the imports front. I think it would’ve been wise for Kear to keep quiet on that subject.

No, that’s what I said technically within the rules. The Crusaders haven't broken any rules either.

Ben did come across very articulate and had well thought out reasonable answers not typical of a rugby player and especially one his age. In particular his answer about the criticism that we are slow to get out after playing the ball and only make 2 yards.
