Is anybody else slightly confused by this, unless somebody like Latu is going....or maybe even Blanch as there has been no confirmation of him being a Wildcat next season, how can we fit more overseas signings into our team?!

I don’t know how comfortable I am with 11-12 imports playing for Trinity next season, I thought the club had left those days behind.

if we sign anybody else over 30 i wont be very happy, are we still signing Paul Johnson?

Totally agree.



Im not comfortable at all with it.



No doubt we will hide behind the fact we have promoted 7 academy players into the squad.



But it is taking shape that we will have at least 10 overseas players in the seventeen each week.

We cannot afford to match the cost of English replacements, but we can work to ensure a future filled with English talent. We have to start somewhere!

Look at the long term

, these academy kids are not ready and we can get much better value for money from overseas players.



Give the academy players 2 years to progress and learn from these expierenced players, whilst the first team keep on improving and then we can start to drip feed these english players into the side.



Players that come from the area and support the club are more likely to put more in, so its a short term view if we think where going to have a team full of aussies in the future.



It takes time so our medium - long term plan is to have english players from our area playing in their team. Cant be done with a drop of a hat. Then the introduction of a new stadium, wakefield based players with quality around them. The futures bright......

We should sign who we can for the money we have, we have to look to increased attendances and SL position points and success on and off the field. Signing home grown players is something we all want (and we have done so) but for now we must push on towards a new ground and a bright future.



Normally i would be against it but in the present climate and the off field battles the club faces, i say go for it.

if Wakefield Trinity Wildcats repeat this years finish in the league or even go one better and the side play good Rugby then i dont give a monkey's where the players come from TBH

We aint loads a money ya know and we have to make do and be the best we can with what we got, and to be fair we've done good so far.
