As part of an attempt to increase attendances and improve the atmosphere at Belle Vue, the club are wanting volunteers to form a band in the West stand. Four drums have already been purchased - minus drummers. Anyone that can play a tune would be more than welcome. If the drums aren't your instrument of choice, others will be required (trumpets etc). These will have to be supplied by yourself though.

Offer free entry into the game for the drummers and you might have people flocking to bang those drums

I don't think the west stand would be the right place, the drummers would not need a case for the drum sticks !!

Please don't do this, I find nothing worse than the inane banging of drums ala the galpharm, headingley and Warrington.

Certainly not a winner for me but each to their own I suppose.

Aagh!I personally could think of nothing worse! Take whinos for instance(oh please),all that horrible racket going on It,s hard to concentrate on the game. The participants seem to think that they are the stars of the game NOT the teams. I always said that if someone was banging a drum next to me they would end up wearing it! Same with the constant playing of "we,re marching on together" long after the kick off. Please do not stoop to this level! I applaud the thinking of it as regards creating an atmosphere, but please not that kind of one. What was wrong with the old fashoined rattles? Next we will be expected to chant BARMY ARMY continuosly as well.(Another irritating habit). Can we just concentrate on the important things i.e the lads getting stuck in and getting the win, with encouragement from the fans(cheering them on),music from the p.a system as & when required. Rant over.

why not ask a local brass band to loan us three or four horn players,and play a fanfare to rouse the fans.

i think a better idea and one which would get fans going at half time is a stick the musical instrument up the players jacksy competition, i for one would bring many friends just to see some one take a trombone up the bum and be able to play a decent tune.

An alternative already suggested would be beat the crap musician with his own instrument contest, a fight to the death between rival teams, first round wigans drummer vs leeds trumpet player, winner to play Hulls musical hammer/fish organ in the next round, (he can hold a tuna Illl tell you)

An my third option would be to shut the f up and watch the rugby, which is my preferred option,

PS I don't stand on the Western Terrace

East stand is surely the best place for this, it being the otherside of the ground to where I stand.
