Whilst returning to the in goal area after a try was scored a chant was started about Darrell Griffin. Most rugby league players ignore the fact that fans are chanting and get on with the game, with people like Ryan Bailey he takes it out on his opposition which is fine. But last night Griffin thought that the only way to retaliate to the fans was by making rude gestures at them?



A few "drunken" fans chant and he does that?

I wouldn't worry about it.

No one person is. I haven't got a problem with the odd player reacting as long as they don't take it too far they are only human and take a fair amount of stick.

Who cares anyway? Griffin is gash and shouldn't be anywhere near a Leeds shirt. Deserves all he gets.

They're lucky it wasn't back in the early eighties. I remember Tony Garforth of Halifax climbing over the wall at Thrum Hall to get a a Trinity fan who'd been giving him some. Luckily for the fan, Garforth's team mates pulled him back

Fans giving them grief were stupid and disrespectful.

Griffin answered in a way he felt they deserved. Can't fault him but he was lucky the camera wasn't on him.

Peacock answered in a very dignified way.



Agar talks about changing the perception of the club.

Those that give grief to players make it harder.

Those that throw the plastic beer bottles make it near impossible.



Trinity doesn't need it. If you are real fans you'll think about your actions.

A lot of them are like keyboard warriors behind their computer screens.......the scrawny little lad behind me who was screaming every obscenity going at Griffin certainly wouldn't have done so face to face....95% of the banter is fun and harmless but one or two go OTT and I can never blame a player for a cheeky little reaction like that.....



Agree about Peacock aswell.....everything about the bloke is class....people may think he's old and past it (and many around me were shouting such things) he had a very good game though and showed he can still mix it in the big games......didn't react badly to the banter as far as I could see but got a couple of plastic beer bottles chucked at him by total idiots......

Happens all the time in league, Never thought it was worth mentioning. On top of that "a few drunken fans" were that of half of our supporters chanting that chant directed at griffin. I'd be more worried about the group of Wakefield fans causing trouble in burley park train station after the game, throwing traffic cones on to the tracks and pushing old men about. I was embarrassed to be associated with them and I know a lot of other Wakefield fans around me felt the same way.
