| I know the tables are still going to change about quite a bit before the middle of September, BUT.... If the Super League table was to finish as it is now, the play offs would be interesting for us if we are to claw our way to the Grand Final...
Wakey v Cas - 6th v 7th places
Winner to play Giants - 4th place (presuming they lose v Saints)
Winner to play Leeds - 2nd place (presuming they beat HKR)
So, if we can beat Cas, Giants and Leeds in three consecutive weeks, we have an appearance at Old Trafford waiting for us!
(Obviously too much time at work today! )

| Wouldn't it be up to Saints to choose who plays who in the Semis in that scenario?

Well, after Friday they are obviously running scared of the mighty Wakefield Trinity.

They ain't likely to CHOOSE Leeds are they? Seeing as it has been Leeds who have beat them in the Final the last two years.

what are the lottery numbers for Saturday? cause I think its too hard to say/predict who will and who won't be in the mix at the end plus on paper we have a slightly easier run in than others.
Oh yea and saints will win nothing this year

I disagree, the fact they have lost to Leeds in the last two finals may see Saints choosing to dispose of their biggest threat with the benefit of a home tie in the Semi Final.

| Or no Grand Final appearance. Given the chance, I think most would rather have the possibility that one of the other teams beat them so they still get to the GF.

I'm not certain that they would be allowed to CHOOSE Leeds. However they might CHOOSE Wakey over whichever of KR/Wigan/Quins makes it through to the other semi final place.

Isn't it that the winners of the first two games go into separate semis, so that it would be Saints versus their pick, and Leeds versus the other one?
On the other hand, will Saints finish top now? They might be hitting their slump, and they have a few injuries.
It will get interesting if there is a surprise in the first round of matches, as Saints (for example) might choose Leeds at Knowsley Road over Leeds at Old Trafford.

| Does anybody actually know how the play offs work this year? Is it true it involves a dice and a game of marbles?
