If they go under I think they'll find it hard to even come back in League 1 form.


At the end of the day it just needs investment but with the current setup it seems a long long way off.

But it is the away fans that make a difference to the French teams home  support, you can not have it both ways .Away fans are making a difference to our average of seven and a half thousand .The French teams away support makes Huddersfield away support look like a top 4 club

Have what both ways? It up to the home team to fill the stadium, not away fans. The circa £40k per season from 1 visit of 2000 visiting supporters is small fry in the grand scheme of things. I'd love us to be in a position where we have to restrict tickets ala HKR to the visiting team. 

It's hardly the same. 
Each club has to travel there once so its a weekend away.
They have to travel every away game.
And it's probably on tv for them too.


As for Salford, I hope Nene Mc makes the difference against Cas. Tough job for them but it's not like Cas are world beaters.

Totally get where you're coming from. But Catalans average more than 9,000 fans a game. On average, that's comprised of 1,000 away fans, if that. 8,000 home fans, many more for big games. When they played at Camp Nou they got 31,000 fans - only 5,000 of the tickets sold were Wigan fans. 


As a fact, Catalans do not bring many away fans. But when they're adding so much to the league in terms of interest, branding, a different market, a great away day - I just can't understand why you'd fixate on the fact that once a year we have to fill Belle Vue entirely with our own fans (as we should be aiming for anyway).


I was disappointed and a bit surprised to hear Matt Ellis say that too, but I didn't hear his thinking behind it.
