I think it’s important that we consistently have good field position so have taken M Russell over Walmsley.
With good field position we can play to the edges more often where I think we have the advantage.
Second rowers will need to be 100% fit and capable of strong defence against Hull back row where Cartwright in particular will be a threat.
We’ve still got a superb starting front row with solid players coming off the bench.
Only returning player for me is Rodwell, I’ve got him on the bench but depending on how we want to control his warm up I may toyed with starting him.
It’s whether we want to fully warm him up, massage, stretching etc and start him or give him an abbreviated warm up off the bench & down the touchline.

Russell and Walmsley are interchangeable, but that's my team. 

Agree with most of that but would drop Cozza, put Pitts at S/R, Rodwell at 13 and have Scott on the bench.

I'm torn on SR. Clearly both Pitts and McM can play SR but they are so good in their current positions I'd rather have them back at 8 and 13.


Croft has one SR spot and as Griffin has had a run out in reserves he's probably the most likely to take the other with either Hall or Scott on the bench depending on who plays centre.

Pretty much what I’d do. 

Though I would think seriously about having a big bench and running with 5 x props with maybe Mckmeeken swapping to LF last quarter and possibly Pitts moving to SR if either Croft or Scott need spelling. 


It’s actually quite tough to pick the forwards but I think I’d be happy for any combination to play on Friday. 


If we can get this win then it would be absolutely amazing. 


We will need to snuff out the Esese threat and cut down the time Asiata has to link up plays. 


The edges will need to defend well and not be too tight. Think a few teams have been caught on the shift to edges defending too tight. 


But equally Hull need to worry just as much about us in the above regard.
