Fair point about it looking official. That’s something that’s hard to get away from in modern stadia like the DW. The only place you can use tele poles are on the concourse in front of the stand. You need the clubs permission to even set foot on that concourse. You then have the Head Steward for the South Stand who is dead against this. Other difficulties in a ground like the DW is the problem of grouping likeminded fans together. It’s early days so you’ve still got people interested who are season ticket holders in other stands. Over time maybe this’ll change.
There is no way of getting away from the fact that you have to work with the club on some things like flags on top of the gantry and standing on the concourse in front of the stand. Impossible to do those things if you don’t work with them. Other things we haven’t asked permission for and have been rumbled.
Like I say, encouragement, support and constructive criticism received from Saints, Salford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Leyth fans etc as well as fans of football clubs. Only set of fans with an obsession with it are Wire fans and I wonder why that is? All boils down to jealousy and bitterness. If they were doing it I’d say good on em’. It looks good and that reflects better on the sport if it’s seen that its support base is vibrant.
We’ll keep plugging away at it anyway, start to build on the home made stuff and sort some displays out for this season. Displays without scratty ingerlund flags that Umbro give away free during a World Cup.'"
Good post  Ultras is just a name. People can't seem to grasp that, is it too far down the track for us to change it? Maybe have a vote on it? |

If your struggling for folk for the wavers let us know I'll drag a few of our lot down.
If folk really have an issue with it they should complain to the club and if then we are told not to use the wavers then fine but until that days comes lets rock and roll  |

warrington, saints, bradford, leeds, all matches that ive witness hostility towards fans on coaches, because there are some teens/early 20's people claiming they are ultras acting up and making and unfriendly and hostile atmosphere.

Had this discussion with a lad who contacted me from Jorvik Reds (York City Ultras). Both came up with 'Brigantes' who were the first tribe to settle in Wigan  |

Well I think your getting the Ultras confused with another group of fans, this group of fans what you are criticising saying you 'hate' are just trying to create a passionate atmosphere at home games which has been lacking since we moved to the DW, the fact that you're coming on here wrongly criticising what they are doing and accusing them of promoting violence despite all the effort they are putting in is disgraceful. The actual Wigan Rugby League club is involved with these lot, do you really think they would be if everything you are saying is true? |

please tell me when/where and possibly who?
I go to most every game home and away and with a group of all ages literally from toddler to pensioner and not once have I heard anybody mention ULTRAS in a negative manner. I'll be honest I don't use the name at all but it's certainly not due to the fact that it's a negative name.
You mentioned earlier on that folk won't conversate with you. So please conversate with me and tell me? |
