Anti Wigan? Your having a laugh!



IM nothing of the sort and anyone who knows from my past posts will confirm this, in fact I've been called a closet Wigan fan on our board at times.



A anti Wigan fan that has posted that IMO Wigan deserve top spot as I feel they have been the best team this year, I've said Tomkins should be Man of steel, I've said that Tomkins is world class and the best player in super league, I've said maguire is the best coach in super league, I was for Hoffman in the tackle on wheeler at DW, I'm a big fan of Hoffman, I said I'd take Richards over foster any day if the week in the foster-Richards debate, I said any team that beats wolves, saints and Leeds deserves to win the CC, I've said a thousand tines that your a very well drilled side, I've said that carmont is better then any of our centres etc



IMO that ain't anti Wigan at all!



On the flip side, I don't like Tomkins as he's a horrible little thing, I don't like the messing at the PTB but as I've said in the past if you get away with it then fair play.



Not many negatives towards Wigan really fir such a anti Wigan person.

He certainly made up for his f*ck up in the Semi

How could you possibly come up with that?



Take the Saints specs off and put the bitterness to one side and judge the try on it's merits.



There can't have been too many better. I was at Wembley for the Martin Offiah try in 94 and this one was in that class.

Name the last time Sam Tomkins tried tricking the ref whilst being tackled by holding the tacklers arm down?

That try was in many respects BETTER than the Offiah one in 94.



Offiah's try was about speed.



This try had skill, teamwork, speed, strength and ultimately was more crucial.

Agree, the try had so much more to it, its slightly tarnished though by the poor attempt at a cover tackle that he really should have made from McGuire and the pretty average play from Webb in trying to defend, but the try on the whole had far more to it than Offiah's in my opinion.

Doubt if you will ever see a better try in a final. Thought Gleeson's 2nd try in last season GF was special but Joel's was something else. Will go down in history with the Saints try in the play offs against the Bulls a few season ago as one of the greatest.

Good try, but not better than atkins effort last year. If BJB could have rouded sam or mcguire finished the effort in the second half it would have been a better effort. Still a very good try.

One of the best rugby league pictures ever. Danny McGuire deserves to be flat on the ground I loved seeing that when he did it.

It's a shame the four pages of this thread aren't all about fans of all teams appreciating what was without doubt a fantastic try. As i watched it yesterday I thought it was reminiscent of Kevin Iro in his prime. I've just got home and watched the Offiah and Tomkins try thanks to the BBC links posted here and I have to say, very strangely, I agree with John Kear! Tomkins try was every bit as good as Offiah's and very similar.

A fantastic try and worthy of watching again and again.
