Posting online that you've heard something very damaging which, for legal reasons, is being kept quiet. And then asking if anyone else knows anything about it - and inviting them to post - is definitely a sign of integrity.

I've noticed several derogatory comments about Mike's site on here and the other way round over the years. What some people could do with thinking about is that the vast majority on both sites are just ordinary Wigan fans giving their opinions or posting stories, nothing more nothing less. I 'know' more people on there for the simple reason that I post more on there but thats only because its a better format for my phone.



There are as many opinions on Mike's site I disagree with as on here and neither site has any rules on the personality traits you need to have in order to sign up and post. The 'I-don't-post-on-there-because-so-and-so-does' brigade are like kids in school who's mummy's come in and ask if their little darling can move classes because they're getting 'picked on'. Its differences in opinions and personalities that keep things interesting on forums. I'm sure some would love a world where everyone else came out of the same mould as them, was all nicey nice and agreed with everything they say all the time or a world where they're allowed to act like arrogant know-it-alls but nobody else is. I suggest that its about time certain people started acting like adults and accepting that you can disagree with what others say and how they say it without any of this 'I'm not your friend' rubbish.



Nobody is forced to post on any site or to get involved with rumours or speculation if they don't want, but the suggestion that there are wilder rumours on there than on here, or that Mike's site has more people who think they are in the know than on here is a total nonsense.



Please lets put this 'us and them' rubbish to bed once and for all, we support the same club after all. If this is a problem for you, it must have been such a difficult time when you first realised that all the other boys in your ballet class

were more blessed in the manhood department.

I wasn't commenting whether the rumour was a wild one or not. I was questioning the validity of claiming to know something shocking, refusing to say what it is, and then inviting others to post what they know. Seems a bit self-contradictory to me, whichever forum it's been posted on.

Bit of an overreaction there mate. I don't think many people have something against the posters on there, or I certainly don't anyway. For me it's just that a more people use this site and more regularly and fans of other clubs can join in. Plus trivial stuff like the layout, it might sound elitist but I think the Gold, Silver, Bronze member etc is a good touch, I'm not saying I treat it like a hierarchy but it's handy to know whether the someone is a regular poster or not.

It was a general post not personally aimed at you Cruncher, I can only assume by the fact you replied that some of it applies to you. I'm sure people can judge for themselves which part(s) of my post that would be. If you don't think there's a problem then that's your choice but that doesn't make me incorrect, but if there is an issue, however small, why perpetuate it?



Grimmy, if my post was based entirely on a couple of comments on here then of course it was an over-reaction mate, but it was based on however many years worth of comments on BOTH sites. I also like to discuss things with fans of other clubs and I do in a number of places but there are times when I feel it can end up as a distraction which is why I don't think its necessary for people to think its got to be one or the other, the two sites are different but to say one is better than the other is purely down to personal opinion. Incidentally Mike's site has a link for 'active topics' which is the link I use for my bookmark for the site because of the issue with the layout you describe which basically makes things the same as on here, but again its personal opinion which people prefer but generally the things discussed are pretty similar and discussed well on both sites. It could be argued that at least with the separate sections its far easier to see where a particular rumour has been discussed without having to trawl through however many pages first to avoid duplication. I neither have a problem nor care about anyone preferring one site or the other but I find generalisations about how things are discussed, and most of all about the people discussing them, very annoying. i think I've said more than enough on the subject lol

The way I see it, this has not been, until you made an issue of it, a fight between two websites. The OP - that's who I was originally criticising - was also criticised by posters on Mike's site.
