Hemmings has no background in the game and has just blagged his way through as a commentator. It hasn't helped him coming from Merseyside.



Having said that, his bias against Wigan last night was appalling.

We expect Stevo not to like Wigan as he is a yorkshireman, but he by contrast has a pedigree in RL.We know Stevo loves the game.



These two are only slightly better than those other two clowns Terry O'Connor and Barry McDermott.



This is one of the problems with our game and why Australia continually do better.



In Australia they employ University graduates in all aspects of the game.



In our game we , or some us, applaud and approve of dross.

I'm with you that Clarke is certainly more knowledgeable than Hemmings, but you are allowing your Wigan bias to get in the way of things, if you don't hear the moments that Clarke allows himself to get all gooey over his side.

Clarke gets gooey over any side. He tried to claim that Riley's try against us was one of the best you'll ever see. Most people ignore him but Wire fans seem to hang on every word he says.

Wish sometimes Sky could do what they do with the footy...You can switch the comms off and just have the crowd on.....One way of shutting them up.

We can afford to loose at saints and still be top due to our points differance but with it being proberley our last game would be a big downer if we were to get beat there

His bias and hatred of Wigan has always bubbled under, but with our resurgance this year, it is coming back to the fore.



The man is an idiot.

Being biased I can sort of understand and I have no problem with it but Eddie pretends he is impartial and is completely unprofessional.



How about when Wigan scored their first try which was against the run of play and how magnificent Leeds had been in the opening 30 minutes because they were 0-0. This is a side with Burrow and Maguire running the show, not players out of position like at Harlequins and to be honest most of their breaks didn't get them too close to our line and our own ill discipline cost us possession and position in most cases.



It wasn't a great performance from Wigan and Leeds had suffered beforehand but Eddie Hemmings is a total waste of space not just because he is biased but because he is $hit. We will always be a small, northern, flat cap wearing sort of game with him and Stevo as the front.

Its wierd, when Wigan dominated the game, I used to curse Hemmings for being too pro Wigan, although I guess its hard not to wax lyrical about a team that were as far ahead of the pack as they were then.



Phil Clarke's never bothered me in that sense, in fact there've been time since he started that he's been very pro saints, even in comments in the derby.



What riles me is that Hemmings seems to have picked up little practical knowledge about the game in all the years of commentating on it and, instead of being pulled up on it, has stevo sitting next to him who not only struggles with basic rules of the game, but also fails to actually see what's in front of his eyes. Hemmings's love for the dramatic and cliche means he spouts torrents of bilge at any oppotunity and only tend to get corrected when Clarke pipes up (which is limited being 3rd mic).

I think a lot of people jump to the conclusion the Phil Clarke will automatically be pro-wigan before he's even opened his mouth, even if he's being impartial, so the guy can't win. Eddie Hemmings on the other hand, is just a pillock, plain and simple
