Tony Martin is the touch judge who looks like Barry Chuckle.

Oh come on. They could have named ANY ref for this and some of you would be whinging.



Nowt wrong with Terry Albert.

Not particularly worried about Aibert - he's just incompetent and certainly not a Homer.



Having Bentham as VR is more of a concern!

Some may disagree with me as we all have our own opinion on referees but IMO the best ref this season has been Richard Silverwood and he'd be my pick to referee this game.



Thierry Alibert/James Child being the worst for differing reasons. Thierry Alibert is incompetent as mentioned and James Child's pedantic nature ruins the game as a spectacle.



The other refs are somewhere inbetween IMO.

As John Monie once said," Two things you cant control are the ref, and the weather, just concentrate on your own performance".

There always has been and always will be complaints about the refs. Holdsworth, Lindop, Clay, Connolly, R Smith....



The list goes on. All of them quality referees until they're refereeing your team.

Albert lets nothing go at all, expect a very stop start derby.

in all honestly I would rather have alibert than Childs,Bentham. I would rather have Gansen although during the match he seems to penalise Wigan more (could be rose tinted specs) but at the same time we tend to win more with him reffing.



fwiw I would say that Alibert is the second best ref.

Silverwood should have been ref. Ganson is a bad idea for a Wigan Saints game because he has a lot to do with the St Helens region referees and I think he gets some stick from them if he doesnt give them an easy game.
