It is going to totally split fans if Noble is given a new deal. I hope IL has the stones to back that call, if he belives Noble can kick on from this.

If i was leneghan I would make the equation very simple.........win us the CC or SL nobby or your out.....that way no one can say he hasn't had the chance and IMO nobby will fall at the final hurdle again and put himself out of the job because despite the team being good enough he is not a good enough coach to lead us to glory!

Iv never called for Noble to go but I have wondered at times if hes the right person but after that performance he proved that what he's been saying about all the attacking plays in training are true. We looked outstanding.



I think Noble is actually getting the potential out of OLoughlin, he looked like a real Loose Forward against Saints, Kicking the ball, passing, running. And it wasnt a one off, hes been very good in that way for a good few games now and improving each time.



I kind of laughed at what Phil Clarke said on the commentry, that Martin Gleeson has made a huge difference to the team, even Phil himself said one person cant make a team but since he's joined we look like a far more attacking team.



Best of all I think finally we do have a balanced team with no star "goto" player like Barrett, Im sure this must help in bringing everyone together.



If the Saints game was a sign of things to come then Noble deserves to stay.

Whilst this is fine in principle, it's not really one result is it? It's a run of 3 good results but, more to the point, the turnaround in form. We are currently playing the best attacking rugby I have seen from a Wigan team in many seasons and, speaking personally, this is the main area I doubted Noble could take us forward. I don't agree with everything he does but surely he should be judged on the whole season's performances, given the way we are currently playing? As you say, if he takes us to a final or, even better, delivers some silverware....

because despite the team being good enough he is not a good enough coach to lead us to glory!



HE and US are key words there! IMO noble isnt good enough to take a team HE built (rather than Inherited) to glory!

The difference Gleeson has made is he makes us dangerous down 2 sides of the field. We no longer simpily go to Carmont/Hock.



Lockers is benefitting from having a skillful centre on that side, and it means both our wingers have the chance of quality ball.



Phelps also has to take a helluva lot of credit - his joining the line offers us plenty extra options that we see teams like Leeds benefit from on countless occasions.



Noble has changed the style this year without a doubt and the addition of Gleeson to the side and a natural fullback on the side have seen many of the options and tactics becoming a lot more achievable.

So clearly you cannot make your statement as if it is fact, when it is merely opinion.

Not a good enough coach? Where do you get such utter nonsense from. So despite him being a proven trophy winning coach and one of the most sucsessful coaches in SL you still think he is not good enough? Ive had this argument loads of times. Brian Noble did not win things at Bradford by pure luck or by any other stupid theory. Just what exactly makes you think he is not a good enough coach?

Yep, exactly, I think if we do well this season and continue with this form then Phelps Smith and Gleeson deserve bonus' because they might end up being the ones who earn Noble a new contract. No doubt with the way these 3 have added something different has made a difference to the team as a whole.

Ahhhh the fickle wigan fans!! Never let you down. Yes you are all right it is in my opinion, but i beleive my opinion will be proven to be right when noble fails to lead us to a final again this season.



I wonder how many of you would be back on here calling for nobles head IF we lost to wakefield in the cup next week!! Sincerley hope we dont lose but it sure as hell would be interesting to see the response. The noble out threads would be well and truely resurrected!!
