Commiserations to the lad, but will anyone actually notice?
Karl Pryce is the most invisible 6'6" man I have ever/never seen.

| Just means another period where he's not getting match fit. Hard lines on the guy, but an occupational hazard of the job.

| Top try scorer in the reserves.
Work in progress I believe is the phrase to be used.
Be patient, I think he'll come good.

| He is actually effective within the reserves and they will miss his presence, particulary the wingers outside him.

Thats the important bit, huge gap in playing level between reserves and first grade Brian.
He had a good game against Barrow, which seemingly is his current level. How patient should Wigan be?

As patient as we should be with any 22 year old in his first season back after being out for a year. Some of his reserve grade performances have been pretty good and has even become versatile enough to play a couple a games at stand off. That in itself shows progress he has made.
People were writing off Cameron Phelps a few weeks ago and look how quickily he's turned it around. Karl Pryce deserves the opportunity and time to prove himself, only then can he be disregarded.

But based in his first team performances, is he worth the wait?
Lets not forget Mathers looked good in some reserve games and look what happened with him.

Mathers has never looked good in reserve team games though.
Based on first team performances, one of the main weaknesses in regards to Pryce's game was fitness & reaction times... All things that can be worked on. His ability to score tries as been evident, but he needs to keep playing and working on his game and gradually gather fitness and pace.

I remember quotes on this forum about him playing well when he was moved to stand off in a reserve game.

His match fitness will take another step back if the 6 weeks out is correct. I just think that for the money he will be getting paid we can best use that in another area to strengthen the side, namely a prop. We are not short on backs once we have Goulding back and the signing of Gleeson.

He played better at stand off. Was certainly no better than Stuart Howarth who usually plays in that position.

It depends how much he's on really, though I don't expect it to be much. Although he'll miss match fitness, it really shouldn't effect him being able to keep fit. Hopefully he'll use this time to work on his fitness. Either way, he'll hopefully have more opportunities towards the back end of the season.
