He was better but still not good enough. He did much better hitting the line and running through.

The old Stuart Fielden doesn't exsist anymore and his form of the past 2 games by his Wigan standards has been pretty good.



I'd settle for a full season of it next year.

It was a good performance from Stu tonight from behind the sticks he seemed very fired up and very vocal. Was a machine in defence, better going forward and i think he seems to have put on a little bit of weight. Coincidence? Hope he keeps it up.

Looks to have picked up a knock towards the end. Have a week off next week for him to recover, if he's not fit, try Davies against Hull?

Good call, it wouldn't hurt to let Davies have a game, McDermott mentioned in commentary that he thought he was ready for a game or two and what a great prospect he is.

He was great in defence and his work with the ball in hand was ok/not bad but lets be honest he could only improve on his recent performances as hes been awful for a long time. Seeing him go down holding his back confirmed to me what ive always thought-hes well past it. I know it was an awkward tackle but the way he lay there looked like a man whos body was completely worn out. Im at the stage where i feel sorry for him now.

Aye I'm often critical of Fielden but he's at least starting to be average, which is an improvement. Whether he's injured or not I'd still drop him next week if McIllorum's fit, just give Mossop a run at prop. I'm convinced he'll manage it well. If Fielden has a run in the reserves I'm convinced it'll do him some good being the best prop on the pitch once again.

Im not sure he would be. His body really does look completely shattered.

When getting up to the play the ball, sometimes it's like watching Rocky Balboa getting up of the floor in the 15th Round.

I didn't want to be the one to say that he wouldn't even look class at reserve level but you're probably right, still think it would be the smart thing to do though.
