Instead of promoting juniors, we decided to sign Jordan James, Tim Jonkers, Oliver Wilkes and Liam Botham...But I wonder which Australians he's refering to?

As he also says in Nobles first year we were fighting relegation and he had to pick his most experienced squad. Can you imagine the uproar on here if he had picked youngsters and we would have gone down due to there mistakes. and he was also trying to put some structure in the youth setup which we had been neglecting over the past 8 or so years. |

This is wrong. All these are forwards so none of them were keeping Gleeson out. Plus, as you say, he refers to "australians". Plus he specifically says it was during the Noble era. Plus who are the youngsters we could have played in the pack? Tomkins, O'Carroll and Prescott were about 17-19 then and nowhere near ready for anything more than a couple of games a season. Also, weren't both Lockers and Hock injured during this time?
Millward got lots of things wrong and may even have been guilty of not giving Gleeson a chance (not sure here TBH) but not for the reasons you have given. |

I'm afraid Gleeson suffered from the same problem that Kevin Brown and to some extent Chris Ashton did.
They got into the first team and thought they had "made" it. They should have realised that they were just on the first rung of the ladder.
