I only got halfway through the video before giving up, so it was useful.
So most of this has been done to get rid of loop fixtures as suspected. As I already said, just make the fecking fixture planning better. It's really not that hard. This year has been an anomaly because of Salford but previous years it was fine.
Other sports leagues in the world don't care about this. The NFL has 32 teams and they only play 17 games - it just alternates each year, and every 4 years. We however, never look past this or the next season, never mind 4 years ahead.
There are also imbalances in Rugby Union - the Six Nations have 5 teams, the home/away fixtures just alternate each year.
