It could be a much bigger gamble as Catalans are more likely to get a franchise next time round then we are.

So we need a coach that will guarentee us our average in the top 8.

There's no such thing, not with our squad and financial situation. Id like to see a serious, experienced, professional coach in charge. Rea and McD were'nt/aren't that, although Rea was more so than McD is. They might be expensive but that's what we need as much as better players.

They're above us in the league now - so what's their problem?

So now we judge a teams success if they are above us in the table? :S

They finished last year in 3rd.

I've thought long & hard about this following yesterdays result, but I still find myself saying Brian Mac "IN",

With tony rea we got play-off rugby and we are not getting that with McDermott, and Im not sure we can afford to sack him he's got 2 years on his contract.



Although I would like to see McDermott stay and Hughes bring in Brian Noble to a similar role that Tony Smith and Jimmy Lowes are.

So.........anybody changed their minds then?

Yep. No problem admitting that if we had made the play-offs I would have remained in the "in" camp, but yesterday was it for me.....he should go.



I was all for continuity and letting him do the job, but there was something very wrong yesterday and I believe the buck stops with him.

21 points in '06, 23 points in '07, 22 points in '08 and now 22 points over 27 games is just not good enough. We had 20 points on June 12th FFS.........something has gone very wrong.

Catleford, Wakey, Wigan, Bradford, Catalans and Huddersfield have all overtaken us since June 12th......that's unacceptable!

Well, somebody has to take responsibility for the way things have gone over the past 3 months and he's the man in charge, so my marginal "in" now becomes an "out".



There's no doubt that he was achieving things until mid season, but whatever's happened since then, he's lost it.



I don't suppose we have the money to bring in an upper layer as Wire did with very positive results, but that'd be good.
