| Quote jaybs="jaybs"I doubt the RFL have not put major thought into this with such a formal announcement being made at Old Trafford I understand Tuesday 26 July 11.30=#FF0040am =#FF0040Apologies for errors! PM may have been a good time LOL

Well, you're getting closer, but [url=http://www.therfl.co.uk/news/article/22945/rfl-confirm-licensing-announcementthis[/url says "The RFL has confirmed that the 13 clubs joining Widnes Vikings in Super League for the next three seasons will be announced on Tuesday July 26 at 11.00am."

Thanks for your kind prompt, I was told first! that it was 11.30am but in the BBC Radio London programme it said 11am and also Yorkshire Post.
Yesterday's Yorkshire Post and on-line did an easy guide into the criteria for the licence, interesting that it may be still 2 Super League teams who fail the test as Halifax are still in the running, but I feel it may be next time for them.

| Dont see why the name is so important - youve had so many that your identity is being diluted. yes you are London RL - but there already is London Skolars. If you stick with Quins, you can pull on the support of the RU fans who are waivering at the cost f watching RU going up.
Whilst this is a very unrealistic similarity, the fans of FC Barcelona love their club and all the facets to it. Hence their basketball teams and other teams are supported very well, by the football fans who love the club (and not just footie). Whilst I dont expect the same amount of fantaical support to come towards the RL side from the RU - but it still shows that loyalty can grow amongst an established name - and you dont get more established than Quins in West London.
Maybe sticking with it (and the fantastic facilities) could be a wise move!

Agree about the facilities, but the RU fans on the whole don't seem to want to know!

| Agreed too - but werent the Bronco's once pulling in 8k crowds? If youve lost one target market - you gotta find another one.

When did the Broncos average 8k in a season
3,500 is the average gate for London in SL.

In SL1 and SL2 we averaged over 5k, but we were good then.

Yes we did have attendances of around 5K as London Broncos, though someone said when we were good, but your claim for the Quins name has simply not worked, so Yes we got to find another name!

| I think the Broncos will be the name chosen. As jaybs said, Broncs were pulling 5k in SL1 and SL2, but that was with proper investment, and proper marketing, also a Challenge Cup Final might have added something to the mix But I think Broncos, with the Yellow, Red and Blue shirts encompasses the identity of London Rugby League. Mix that with a new marketing strategy over 10, 15 years, and we'll see a booming London RL scene at the end I think.

| I also think they've already decided to reuse the Broncos name, which is a shame as it's not unique.
There's a Titans (Staines Titans RLFC) and a Storm (South London Storm RLFC) within 10 miles of the Quins, so I'm sure thee clubs wouldn't be too pleased if their name was used.
I also chose London Blitz in my list of 4 names, and I liked the London Ravens and London Eels suggestions people have mentioned. I also went for London Snapdragons, Effra and Fleet for the other three suggestions.
It still seems odd to have London anything, as London's such a big place. A bit like when bands play at Wembley and say "Hello London". So West London... sounds better, although it might sound stupid if the club ever relocated again (hopefully not)
