I remember the 'crowd cam' being a big success at Manchester Storm.



Always a laugh to see people revert to type, even in middle age, and flick the V's at unsuspecting cameramen

Like others I can see a lot of people paying their first visit to LSV, but getting them back will be a problem, which for me will not be just down to what happens on the field.



A little scenario for you.



Leigh do a great job and give little Zoe a free season ticket, she’s only 8 and wants to go, Milly her friend from school went last week. So her Dad takes her, they get there early and sit in the family stand, next to Milly, and her Mum and Dad. There’s photos from the last game being shown on the screen of fans all dressed in Cherry and White pulling funny faces, singing etc.



Her Dad says “Oh look your Uncle Glow and Cousins”, Arty pays them a visit in the stand and passes a few sweets around, then he goes and Dances with the dancers on the pitch, he’s funny he can’t do it.



Then there’s a sudden shout and people are stood up waving, you can see them on the screen, “Oh look Dad its us!”



Same thing happens at Half time but they show a photo of Milly because it’s her Birthday, they play Happy Birthday and the people all around Milly join her Mum and Dad singing Happy Birthday to her.



Little Zoe goes home, “Mum it was great we were on the Telly, there were people pulling funny faces, they showed Milly and sang Happy Birthday, can they show me on my Birthday?”



Mum says “Sounds like she enjoyed herself!”

Dad says “Yeah she had a great time, singing and shouting, she wants a shirt now, they all go in Shirts or dressed in Red, it was good you’ll have to come with us next time”



Mum says to Zoe “And did Leigh win?”

Zoe “Dad did we win?”

I understand the concept mate and i for one will be trying to do my 'bit' however the technics at the lsv will be operated by their staff and not mine (that souns a bit outlandish my staff

) or the Centurions, its a wait and see at the moment but I do get your 'drift', the Stadium security/safety officer have already held prelim 'talks 9hey Dave that sounds posh dunnit

) and his thinking isnt a million miles from yours or mine on the subject.

Thats good to hear, lets hope something comes of it, its in the interest of all concerned including the SMC, that the place is as full as possible.

But DID WE WIN THE GAME????

Seriously, good points - obviously we support the team but its lots of little things together that add up to an enjoyable experience rather than putting all the emphasis on 80 minutes of rugby alone - if we do enough of them and do them right the fans will be happy even when we've lost.



We need fans to start enjoying their whole day out again if we're going to get a feelgood factor back and get the crowds in.

No only by having someone with a 8mm camera can do it for you, give me a ring now im at home.

IMO if we are to apply for the next SL franchise, simply playing rugby for 80 minutes and reaching a final will not be enough for us, we need to some how stand out from the rest, and we have an opportunity at our new stadium to offer a match day experience that could be the envy of the RL world.





I'm sure Fred will try his best, lets hope everyone else comes to the party.

the problem i will have on match day is that im a bit busy

and rather a long way from the control room but i'll have further chats with Dave and im sure there is something that can be done but people dont expect to come along on a match day and have your piccy on any screen or even details as i will probably have to provide the info in some digital form prior to the game.

I understand your commitments on matchday would make this difficult for you Fred on top of everything else, but if you could ask the questions and find out if it's possible and whats need, perhaps one of the schools/colleges media department could under take the task?



I'm no technical wiz but I'm prepared to contact the schools/college to see if they would assist, but I'd need to know what I'm asking them

I wont know until we actually get in there but i'll bear it in mind.

Which is one of the reasons the club need to follow up the free kids season ticket with some free adults tickets for specific games to get them there in the first place



Once there , well then it's up to the club to make it ' fun ' no matter what else happens



This is one of the reasons to lose the flute song and any other swearing or having a go at other clubs songs and chants , hence the new singing rumour





Also the show your colours thread as well is very relevant , we want a sea of red and white , it does make a difference
