| It would be brilliant having a anthem of our own but the hard part would be getting it off the forums and into the terraces.

| Bridge over troubled water - S&G
Wire could hire a proper singer not some x factor dog poop one and sing it every game before kick off
[iWhen you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down[/i
A song about love and support, appropriate if you love and support the Wire.

Imagine 11k Wire fans singing that at a game, that would be powerful, it would have the hairs on your neck standing up, it would make you feel immensely proud to be a wire

| OKay Yed. I vote for anything by Meatloaf.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head.
Maybe 'For crying out loud'
[iCan't you see my faded Levis tearing apart. [/i That's pretty much how I feel watching Wire.

| Thank you for the music by Abba -- with a very slight tweek
I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But we have a talent, a wonderful thing
'Cause everyone listens when we start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud
So I say
Thank you for the MAGIC, is the song I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy YOU'RE bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
....(or maybe Without out Sunday out, what are we)
So we say thank you for the MAGIC
For giving it to me

| now for my final suggestion today...
Platters (or whoever) Only You
[iOnly you can make this world seem right
Only you can make the darkness bright
Only you and you alone
Can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love for only you

| An anthem would be great - I'm a season ticket holder at Anfield, and the power of you'll never walk alone is so great, and near impossible to actually messure !!!!!
A few years ago I used to always be on here, banging on about how we're losing all our older, traditional songs. Saints, Leeds & both Hull sides have songs(i.e. marching on together at leeds, don't know what the other clubs songs are called, but I recognise them, when I hear them singing them)
Because our attendance dropped so low in the 90's, then the drums/barmy army moved in, and then we moved grounds and aquired lots of new fans, alot of the older songs were lost.
We should set up some kind of club, to get this going. Maybe a few older wire fans who remember older songs, to get them down, and then maybe arange standing together in the wire end, so that they can start the songs off????
They do things like this at LFC, they also hve a monthly newpaper, called the KOP, and every now and again they publish the lyrics to these kind of songs - maybe that should be done for us !!!!

| Quote jdrocket="jdrocket"What about the classic- I am sailing- rod Stewart.
There is laods that can be done with that.
We are sailing, up the league
we are sailing, to wembley.
I do want credit for this though'"
"We are Wire,
We are Wire,
We are Wire,
Not the Wolves."
In seriousness I fully agree that an anthem is required. I don't like the idea of some singer singing it as that's tacky, but whoever does the PA could play the same song as a matter of routine shortly before the players come out for every game. That could lead to it catching on and it doesn't need to have it's words changed to Warrington words either - You'll Never Walk Alone works fine as it is for example, and it was written for a musical not football. As far as I know Stoke fans just sing Delilah as normal too and they sing it well.
Yed won't thank me for agreeing with him but I love his Bridge Over Troubled Water suggestion.
PS: Drums at sporting events are an atrocity.
