Yes and that is why average attendance has fallen again this season.

Average attendance for us or for the league? RL doesn't exist in a bubble, there are many outside influences (like a recession) that can affect overall league attendances. As for ours: I imagine it's those new fans that have been attending since we won a trophy or two are now dropping off because (let's face it) we've not been at the standard this season that we've all grown accustomed to. I'm sick of listening to moaning fans at the game calling us s**t blah blah. Even on our poor days now we're a light year away from the standard of 10 years ago. That's not good enough for the new breed though, they want 50/60/70-0 batterings every week.

| I didn't renew my season ticket this season.. I has been a brilliant decision on my part. I have seen the following benefits
* I am not forced to juggle social occasions around the ever changing schedule.
* The 'i cant miss x number of games' mentality to justify the season ticket cost has gone.
* I have more spare cash to go to away games.
* I have more chance of being able to talk the wife into letting me go to away games (which if we are all being honest are much more fun).
* As well as ticket cost, I have saved untold cash on beer and food.
So as we approach the playoffs, i have seen all the decent games, I have much more cash and my pregnant wife will be more than happy with me going to the match, should i want to.
There is no chance i will be getting a season ticket again next season.

| I have to agree with Morley's Deckchair, this is my last season ticket this year. I will just pick and choose my games. Fed up of watching poor teams and inept performances from Wire. It just isn't exciting any more.

| Too little physicality in the modern game. It was a far better spectacle when the less skillful teams (and sometimes the better ones too) could resort to the darker arts as a means of levelling things up. It also used to have the benefit of reducing the number of blowout scorelines - it wasn't in anyone's interest to rob the opposition of their dignity

Is this serious? If the last three years have been a case of "watching inept performances" by Warrington God knows what the previous 30 years was.
As for bringing "back the biff" I presume everybody felt Gareth Hock hard-done by when he was done for eye-gouging Harrison or leading with his elbow when in possession or are we suggesting the olden days hard cases weren't cheapshot merchants like Hock and didn't revert to the likes of eye-gouging or leading with the elbow?

| It defies logic that I'll type the next sentence, I did enjoy us being average, I enjoyed the siege mentality it brings.
Don't get me wrong though I don't want us to return there.

I couldn't agree more. We're obviously not on top form yet this season but even on our poor days we're so much better than ten years ago. The Warrington I watch now is far more entertaining than the Warrington of my youth. Tten years ago if you'd have asked me if I would take a season of below-par performances if we could finish in the top three and have a good shot at the GF I'd have bitten your hand off.

| I'm gonna get a season ticket next year so I can make the symbolic gesture of throwing it on the pitch and then posting on here that I've thrown away my season ticket because I'm sick of watching the same old tripe every week from Wire.

Ha ha. Remember the bloke who did that a few years back - didn't he ask for his ticket back a few days later?
Back on topic - I'm not renewing my ticket due to Wire performances, which on the whole have been perfunctory this season with the occasional high and low points (Widnes). No, the reason is I am bored at the games - the entertainment is just not there for me.

| I thought he chucked his shirt on the pitch? Can't remember what game it was. Bloke in the North Stand wasn't it?

Soccer is the complete reverse'"
If RL had the billions of pounds per season poured in then it would do the same. It's really only a minority regional sport sadly. If anyone can improve RL it's Sky. They could treble or quadruple what they pay for RL without even noticing and that would transform the game.
