Quote Lord Tony Smith="Lord Tony Smith"No, obviously not a great result for "RL", as we want to make the competetion as close and as competetive as we can. I Interpreted my comment about "great result" towards Wire because it is a great result for Warrington, isn't it not? I think you've misread it, Rogues.'"
I did, and as you have pointed out I was mistaken.
It's just that I've had this argument so many times with Wigan fans when our academy team has been walloping other teams. It really doesn't help them in their preparation for the next level, hence why so many of our young player are going out on loan (the academy league isn't strong enough)
I don't want to hijack the thread, but would it not be a good idea to let the stronger academy teams play in the Championship, thus allowing them to stay (and be still coached) with their parent clubs?
Wigan went to and beat Barrow in a pre season friendly in a really competitive game, which is what we need to develop the youngsters.
As you can see this is a subject I an very passionate about.
And I also stated that I would have given up last years Wigan Superleague victory for a RL four nations and World Cup win.
