It intrigues me the way some people adopt a Stalinist revisionist approach to our history. Our current coach has done a marvellous job, but the failure to give any credit to Cull by some is appalling.
Still this is the forum where Simon Moran can be criticised by one poster for celebrating our success so I guess I shouldn't be surpised by anything.

Drives me mad. Doesn't everyone know he rescued us from relegation! 
No seriously he assembled a squad which by and large (with a few outs and ins) did win a Challenge Cup. His commitment was never in doubt either, just at too big a club too early in his career. |

There has been mention of some of the Widnes lads being given some time off... as we've had like 2 weeks no game and another two to go!
This was known months back... so good shout for a relaxing holiday with the kids before the playoffs i'd say!

You just get a bunch of fans whom only recall the latter days and turned on him big time... I mean there's one thing saying 'look you aint the right guy for us as coach' but to still slag him off after he's left is pathetic!

Let's be honest you weren't 'too big a cluhb' when he got the job! PC maybe abit OTT said himself 'He's proud he got expectations up so high at Wire... even if that did ultimately cost him the job!'
Ok the investement stepped up the process but in a way he's right! He joined a team heading down and when he left (had arguabbly turned them into) a side expecting to win titles every season!!
Wouldn't say he joined to big a club but arguabbly left them that way yes! |
