Sad to see it's not as strong as it used to be, I remember when everybody was off on walking day, don't think it could be done now, maybe if they moved it to Saturday and made more of a carnival atmosphere it could put new life into it, we stumbled across something similer whilst on holiday in France a few years ago, the whole town stood still, there were stalls selling food and general stuff, street entertainment, really good seems as if everybody in the town got behind it.

They don't stock Warrington Town ties at Matalan

surely they dont do club shirts aswell as ties?

My mate is working on the doors today in one of Warrington's town boozers. he reckons there is always a scrap on walking day around tea time.

As well as the Wire we also go by the nick name of the Yellows!

Any way anyone who wants a club tie which is blue and yellow with the town's crest and The Wire on it let me know.

I've always prefered Padgate Walking Day, though that is due to blind Bias as I walked in Padgate every year for school.



Wasn't really fussed about Warrington Walks really, but went this year for the second consecutive year - dressed up as though I was going to Castleford - and waited in the sing rain right until the very last school to give my goddaughter, her sister and my cousin's two kids 50p each.



I was, however, stood next to an absoloutely outrageously stunning Policewoman, which made it worth it tbh. I think it's the uniform that does it for me, but she was a class above regardless.

Used to love it when we were kids. There were thousands lining the streets. Off to Church St. social club, then Alberts, then Bank Quay for train to Blackpool. It has always been a up from day 1.
