Good or bad choice ?'"
I think Good.
I never doubted his effort, ever. I doubted his ability to break a tackle but I thought he was 'Mr Effort'. Add to this, every function I attended that he was at he seemed a larger than life sort of bloke, somebody who every member of the squad would get on well with. He's from a good enviornment in Bradford, has good experience and always struck you as a bloke that had god ethics. I think he'll have the respect of his peers.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a big year for Salford, we'll have a thread on here discussing 'Why did we let him go ..?' and signed Carvell who's been injured for large periods.

| Parker just made up the numbers at Warrington. He was always on a downward spiral from the point he got pulled for having an illegal tackle technique.

He did chase back Jamie Thackray though, Mark.

| As a player, average at best. (Bradford must have been rubbing their hands each time Cullen came knocking).
But i guess he's a 'character' and wish him all the best at Salford. By the sound of things he's going to need it!

| Handing him the Captaincy signals McCrea's intent not to just use him as an impact utility forward, which he seems to have done for most of his Super League career.
Good luck to the bloke.

| i always rated parker, he always gave 100 per cent and did things people dont often notice like tackle his heart out when ever he was on the pitch. people never gave him a real chance, but i agree that it was the right decision to get rid of him when we did.

| I often agree with quite a few posters on here but on this one I can't. I thought Parkers effort last year was shocking. I remember one of the tries Catalan scored away (No i am not one of the 52) we had tackled them 5 yards out and they played the ball and a scoot and dummy left poor Rob with his feet well and truly planted. Saw him shove our defenders back into the line whilst he went to marker on more than one occasion when he was first to his feet. He looked lazy at times but the same could be said of a few others.
Last year he was a shadow of the player we signed. I dont know if he was playing with an injury or something last year but he wasn't right.
Good luck to him though.

As if he cares, as long his salary goes into his account.

Parker has been quoted in a number of places that he will be playing second row for Salford. Indeed on the BBC website he cites "being sick of playing prop" as a reason for leaving Warrington

| Parkers role is court jester.
I think salfords season will be a pretty good joke with him at the helm.

| Good luck to him, I always thought you couldn't knock his commitment, hope he goes well, deserves a break I reckon.
