No great surprise in the result. Mcrae can never get the players motivated against the teams that are around us in the league table.
2009 season:
Quins at home. 30-0 down after 30 mins, pulled back to 18-30 only to lose 18-48.
14-18 vs Hull at home (Hull had lost 6 on the bounce).
16-24 vs Quins at Murrayfield (late try made the score respectable)
25-12 away at Crusaders (the week after beating saints at home)
12-18 vs Cas (H). Dour game.
24-30 vs Wakefield (H). 12-30 down before 2 late tries.
Ths season:
16-36 vs Cusaders (H)
36-6 vs Wakefield (A) 28-0 down in no time.
30-12 vs Cas (A). Terrible performance.
And then onto todays debacle. 16-0 down after 15 mins. Not good enough.
We have had some good one off performances under Mcrae but that was a big loss today. Nothing to play for now. 7 points off the play offs with 9 games left. Wouldn't bet against us finishing bottom of the pile.
Quote Prestwich Red="Prestwich Red"Well I hope the people who were saying the club were wrong not to give Alker a extension to his contract will have seen today the club are exactly right.
We were back in the game when Smith was on at hooker, he then got clobbered and Alker came back on.
After that the play was again slow and predictable as it had been for most of the first half.
'"
16-0 to Salford while Alker was off the field. 28-6 to Cas whilst he was out on the pitch.
