I stayed there when we played Widnes. Interesting. Bet at one point it was amazing. We were in one of the windowless rooms. We only paid 25 quid for a twin room, it did the job. I've stayed in nicer hostels however.

| Anticipating a shortage of reasonably priced accommodation in the Manchester area for the magic weekend I decided to join a free dating site and said I wanted to meet a woman who must be a RL fan and live within 20 miles of the city.
As a result of this I'm now meeting a 34 year old divorced mother of 2 from haydock (a Saints fan) on the saturday and 27 year old single mother of one from Bolton (a Wigan fan) on sunday. I failed to mention I'm a married father of 2 from Coventry but hey...thats life.
Following an exchange of photos and a few late night phone calls both have said I can stay at their houses on their respective nights and they both seem pretty friendly girls so not only will I get a free bed for the night I'll also get a leg over and maybe a bacon roll the following morning.

| There is normally somewhere on canal street that can accomodate if your stuck, with the more classier stays give you breakfast in the morning as well
The prices didn't increase that much last year when Take That was on last year, and there was probably more people there on one night than the whole of the Magic Weekend.

| I am staying at the holiday inn media city on the saturday, booked it soon as dates were announced.
to be honest, nice hotels in the city centre are expensive pretty much every weekend in manchester due to the football fans who travel.

| Just booked Jurys Hotel as saw offer for 130 quid for the fri and sat night inc bed and breakfast. Is a bit out of town away from the stadium but can get tram into city centre and get transport from there. Stayed there a number of years ago and was half decent hotel.

Airtours cabin crew were a friendly lot.
Never found out the escort's name. For some reason she banged on the door for 5 minutes at about 3am until I told her to f*ck off.
Oh yeah, forgot about the bloke knocking on doors selling drugs. Charming hotel.

| Try Brittania Hotel in Stockport. Normally cheap and only a £3 train ride from the city centre.
