Any update on how he's going with his trial?



Given the likelyhood of Semi leaving at the end of the year, would he be an adequate replacement?

Saw his first game and he looked a bit off the pace but it was his first game of RL and the first time he'd played 80 mins for quite some time. His tackling wasn't all that great but he did look quick and ran the ball in strongly. I think once he is fit he could be a dangerous ball runner but needs to work on his defence.

Was better at Maesteg. Couple of powerful runs in broken play, couldn't link/find support players initially. took a couple of heavy tackles & shook them off and made some big tackles as well. One-on-one in both attack & defence did well, defending grubbers not so good. Was let down by his centre a couple of times or maybe just not reading/anticipating what each other was going to do - It was only the 2nd time they had played together. I think there is enough there for a trial extension already.

It sounds like the guy is doing OK to say that he is playing a new game that he has no background in.



It's an ideal time for him to come, really. He can presumably be on a trial for the remainder of the season - get plenty of game time in the Reserve Grade to get up to speed on the basics. He can then have a full pre-season with the first team squad next year, get his full fitness and work on his defence. He's English and presumably would come reasonably cheaply, so it won't be a quota spot and won't take up much of the cap.

Would he count as homegrown with Bradford being his first Rugby League club, or is there as I seem to remember an age limit on it?

I thought they had to spend 3 years in the academy system to count as home grown.

If he is not too expensive I think he is worth a punt. Improved defence, strong runner always seems to be looking for work.
