What a ridiculous thread.

The problems we face are due to lack of depth in squad and backroom staff.

If you look at the teams that have beaten us in the league (Hull FC away, Saints home and away, Wigan home, Catalans away, Wire home and away, Hull KR away, Leeds at home, Widnes at home, Hudds magic weekend), realistically we are about where we should be.

Wouldn't have expected to win any of those matches given our financial situation and lack of ability to rotate the squad.

We were never in a position to compete with the top clubs this season. There's a few of the games from which we should have come away with more than we did (Widnes home/away, Hull KR away) but other games where we came away with more than we expected to (Leeds and Hudds away).

It's not great to acknowledge that your team is mediocre but unfortunately it's a realistic view. We have some way to go before we are going to be competitive but getting rid of the coach is not the way to do it.

What a stupid thread. Last year we finished 8th - without the RFL's points deduction. From the pack that got us to 8th - not first or second-8th- we lost Elima, Kopczak, Burgess, Hargreaves, Sibbit, and Joseph. We have also lost Whitehead. In the backs we lost Jeffries, Ainscough, Crookes and Pryce. That's 10 players plus Whitehead. We brought in Sidlow, Foster and two players on loan -Blythe and Evans. Gale didn't play until Rd 11 and Purtell until Rd 6. For God's sake get a grip. Cummins has worked miracles with this squad. We have realistically a 24 man squad and yesterday we had only 16 players available and had top bring in an 18 year old part time player and that included Ben Evans who has only played 10 Super League games. Cummins should be lauded for what he has achieved. He has less staff than last year and far less players, both in quality and in numbers. Some people are just complete tits.

Spot on, some people think we are competing in a fantasy league, not a brutal and uneven competition with the burden of a large financial handicap in the shape of our reduced Sky money.
