Not for me. There might be one or two games this season when it would be handy to have him around, but on the whole I don't think it would be a worthwhile investment and I don't think it would send out the right kind of message.

I just think long would give us a extra option he still has a exellent kicking game and can organise the team round the field.

He doesn't seem to be able to do it for Hull whenever I've seen them playing. He just looks slow of foot and slow of thought.



Had Pryce been out all year then I would say it's a possible last gasp type signing for 1 year, but if he isn't I wouldn't go near him. He was average at best for us in his last year or two and has been worse for Hull. I'd rather Wilkin took a bit more responsibility for kicking from Loose Forward with Lomax and Gaskell in the halves if Pryce is not fit.



As for him coming in as coach, I'm not sure on that either. He has never been the most professional of players and could be a poor influence on younger players. If he's taking his badges now then maybe, but I'd rather we brought in a good coach before an ex player.

I'm not doubting his ability or commitment, and I know some say cover in the halves. But I think it starts as cover and ends up a full time job. Coaches love safety first and in the big games the young lads would get sidelined as we would go with the safe option. Can't really see it as affordable for injury cover only. Better to take £200k or what ever it would be off the losses for this year.

Don't forget that Long knew Knowsley Road like the back of his hand, he would have to learn the new pitch and its dimensions quick to have an impact on the team.

Can't see any sense in the move whatsoever, move on, he's gone. His game was off the cuff anyway so don't think thats a viable option on which to base a coaching career and let's face it he wouldn't be the best mentor in the world.

You can't say that. I think Sean matured an awful lot towards the later stages of his career. I know he was very highly thought of.
