Being the first game I would like to see all 3 of our new recruits given some game time. I would also like to see an alternate at FB and Wellens given some game time in a new position. I think as a utility back on the bench he would be perfect, also if no back gets injured, he could do a stint at Loose/SR, or drop into FB allowing Lance to go to hooker, giving roby some game time rest.



I think it's a flexible team sheet, it gives us alot of bulk allowing Walmsley to get some game time without pressure also with 4 pivots on the field in 1, 6,7 an 13, we would have kicking options a plenty and people with ball in hand in the best position to be with ball in hand.

gilmour, ferguson, faalogo and faiumu all tried it for nathan brown last season at giants but failed

We have Puletua/LMS/Perry/Clough/Laffranchi/Walmsley who all can play prop, so I don't think that will be an issue really.

Have you seen ever seen Percival play?

He's a very good prospect, as a centre.



That backline would get murdered.

Murdered? Any more than our current backline does?



I don't see how it's any weaker than:



1 - Wellens

2 - Makinson

3 - Jones

4 - Shenton

5 - Meli

6 - Hohaia

7 - Lomax



Makinson would be miles better than Wellens in attack and I'd bet he'd be a lot better defensively as well as he'd actually arrive at tackles and balls Wellens just watched from 12 feet away.



Turner is replacing Shenton, I presume just taking his spot in the team. But that will leave us with an absolute liability on the wing in Meli and one in the centres in Turner. At least with my lineup, we don't have Meli dropping high balls or Turner being a turnstile at centre.



Wing is a position you can blood a player in without much worry, it's not an essential spot provided the player doesn't make unforced errors from kicks.



Gaskell in over Hohaia is the only other change and like replacing Wellens would vastly improve our attack.

It's only when people start posting their teams for next season that the thought of another year of watching Lance's casual passing choices and failure to break the line sinks in.



I seriously hope last season was a one off settling in period and he finally lives up to his reputation.

We've already done this one, but anyway...
