On the basis that Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield could well be described as a conurbation with a population of almost 1.5M, that would mean that the Greater Manchester conurbation would need over 1M people outside of Manchester itself to be as big.
Is Huddersfield closer to Leeds than Wigan is to Manchester?
