| I'd be pretty surprised if GH has only just landed this on JJB. Suspect that the odd-seeming diversity role may have been a bit of a smokescreen while he's been learning the ropes.

| Exeter Rhino: christopher: Not sure why people automatically dismiss JJB? None of us have worked with him so don't know about his qualities for the role, he's at least ran/runs a business and has been on the board.
What business did JJB run, and what formal qualifications and relevant experience does he possess? I don't know the full answer. What I do know is that in a short period of time, he has been assistant coach, temporary head coach, director of diversity and inclusion (or equivalent title) and Sky Sports media pundit (potentially more). Seems like he doesn't really know what he wants, or that he's a jack of all trades. This doesn't strike me as the CV of someone who has been painstakingly building to becoming a CEO of a relatively high profile regional sports club. I like JJB personally, but I worry that appointing him as CEO isn't the hard-nosed business decision making that led to us getting Blease, for example.
JJB's commitment to Leeds is there for everyone to see, for sure. But he doesn't strike me as having the political nous of Gary Hetherington. Kevin Sinfield, for example, worked some time in sports administration for the RFL, and seemed like a more logical successor if we wanted to appoint from within, but even that would be risky given past associations. Perhaps Sinfield felt the need to steer clear while Jack is still making his way, and didn't like the level of scrutiny when he was last in a senior position at the club?
JJb owns a media company RAM media. Caddick is no mug, he knows JJB and his business qualities more than any of us. Sinfield couldn’t handle the DOR role there’s nothing to suggest he would make a good CEO. As mentioned earlier Radlinski had no experience other than knowing the club inside out and it’s fair to say he’s doing an excellent job.

| The criticism of JJB is beyond belief frankly, and completely unwarranted. Fair enough, you might not like him as a pundit, but has anyone in recent years championed the club or been more loyal?
I dare say if he looked and spoke a different way he wouldn't get half the criticism he does.
As for experience, he's been on the board of directors for the last couple of years, has held numerous sporting and other roles within the club, and has a fantastic and experienced team around him. I'm not saying it will work out perfectly, but that's far more experience than many peers and I wish him all the best.
I also find the comments regarding the club being stagnant strange. I think we too often associate the success of the first team with the success of the clubs. Has anyone been to the stadium recently? Or read the articles about record breaking commercial partnerships. Aside from on field performances, the clubs probably never been stronger, thanks to GH and Caddick's leadership. Let's hope JJB continues in the same vein.

| Jack Burton: JJB has as much experience as the likes of Radlinski, Fitzpatrick and Myler.
By the sounds of it, Caddick's daughter and Rob Oates will be dealing with most of the business side of things.
Radlinski has been an exec at Wigan since 2010 and only became a CEO in 2023. JJB didn't retire from playing until 2019 so he's almost 10 years behind in experience rather than having "as much".
