Yeah I read that back then too, good work on the investigation side of things Brew.
The info about him now being a firey in Aus was gained from a long chat I had with one of our current players, not gonna name him, but for arguments sake, lets call him Sam Slack.
At the time of Pat doing a runner I was not aware of what a complete tw#t the Barrow chairman was. If I had know then I would of driven him to airport and flogged the sh#tty rover myself!!!

Wasn't Pat still living in the Halifax area whilst he was at Barrow anyway, he was playing Cricket at Northowram wasn't he, they actually knew he was leaving the country didnt they?

He was playing cricket at Northowram Fields. Upto U18's cricket he was ahead of Michael Clarke in the Aussie cricket standings and could have gone on to big things but chose rugby.
The lad he shared a house with knew he was leaving, but only by about half an hour, over the phone!! |
