The North Stand was originally built to accommodate seating but for whatever reason, the plan changed and it was decided to have it as a standing terrace. The design was amended with large concrete blocks that transformed the area required to fit a seat in, into 2 steps.
These blocks are feckin' huge and very heavy so they wont be loose but if you have a look at the terracing in the NS there are some gaps at the back of these blocks that might require a bit of reduction. Apart from that it all looked pretty solid when I was on there a few months back, I'm not an expert but there was nothing obvious and I can't see a few month making that much difference.'"

The small chance we have of getting into superleague is now ZERO though, as the council will deem the structure unsafe & our ground capacity will be reduced under SL requirements |

According to tonight's Worrier a further six figure sum is needed to be spent on the ground as "the North and South stands are showing their age" they are 10 years old maximum FFS. In the present financial climate I think the North Stand will be closed for an awfull long time.  |

We won't be needing them for a long time anyway.
The Victorians built underground tunnels to withstand the onslaught of that population's crap and pizz. Over 100 years later and 4 times the population those tunnels still withstand our crap and pizz. We've become a nation of cheap merchants. 50 year old tower blocks being demolished. 10 year old motorways being ripped up and re-laid. We've become the type of spiv nation that we all used to laugh at decades ago.
It's all Murdoch's fault of course. |
