| I thought so also. But trying to grab something about and inch and a half in diameter when someone is running at full pelt constitues a lottery, NOT a game of rugby. Sadly, I dont believe anything will happen. The rules may be workable in 7's, I have played similar in 7's, but with 13 players on a fullsize pitch it constitutes nothing short of a frustrating farce.

Hello All
We have had about 6 or 7 games played so far with some going well and some not going as well.
Tom and I were looking for feedback for a training course and pack that we can give out that will help teams progress.
Yesterday Halifax played Hull, a lot came out of that game and will be delivered.
Points to note: Contact levels - its all about the avoiding of dangerous play and not penalising every form of contact. If a dangerous play happens this is up to the official to use common sense and speak to the teams. Contact will happen is unavoidable but as long as its not dangerous - play on!
Diving for a try - as long as the player is not in tagable distance or again not causing a potential danger.
Fending of the tags - we want to avoid the huge karate type chopping actions, a small tap away is usually deemed fine - again common sense of the official.
These are small notes from yesterday but a course will be held soon.
Regards
Pete

| Hello guy's it's been a good 4 years with you a lot of good times and some unlucky times but only 2nd season into the tml and im afraid to say i wont be involed in our team no more due to terrable changes in the league this also goes for jamie and paul who couldn't be there on sunday due to been on holliday. the rules have spoiled a perfect 1st season for the tml and ruined how most people think of the game now.
Thanks Geordie.

Isn't that we have been playing for the last few years though?
We've had differing levels of contact from different teams and it is down to the referees and players disgression, if a prop takes a straight drive up he is bound to attract some sort of contact, a bit of shoulder whilst getting the tag "should" and has been fine for the last few years.
On Sunday when the ref established that it was completely non contact, I as well as a fair few others on both sides were made to look stupid by just standing there grabbing with hands simply hoping to find the tags.

| interpretation and lack of training. we attempted to use the international rules to set some boundaries for everyone but it seems they have been taken to extremes without common sense.
Having speaking to some Fax and Hull players this seems to be the case and we can move on from this learning curve.
